A friend of mine lost his I797. His lawyer asked him to apply for duplicate.He got the duplicate after few months. I don't know the exact procedure was.

This question is for those who are residing in TX and renewed their AP. Recently I applied (efiling) for AP renewal for my spouse, the online system directed me to mail the supporting documents to Nebraska. I am thinking this is because our 485 is pending in Lincoln, NE. Did anyone who renewed their parole sent the supporting documents to TX. I have a wierd feeling that TX service center is much faster in EAD and AP renewals compared to NE. Can someone advice. Also, if doing a paper filing, can I send it to TX service center since I reside in TX? Thanks in advance.

My lawyer said it was ok and we have applied for h4 extension for spouse. Its under regular processing at VSC so I won't know the outcome for a few months.

Senior members & Experts , please clarify on this issue
1. I'm AOS aplicant currently working with company X in US and planning to go to abroad and work for other employer Y for 1 year in abroad. Once I come back to US ,can i join with employer X on H1B and continue with GC processing?
If above can't be done
2. Assuming I withdraw my 485,so i will on H1B status. If H1B applicant currently working with company X in US and work for other employer Y for 1 year in abroad. Once I come back to US ,can i join with employer X on H1B and later continue with GC processing? - or H1B status abandon as soon as i change employment in Abroad
Please provide your suggestions

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee voted today to scrap the controversial REAL ID law which will require states to begin implementing tough new standardized technology requirements for drivers licenses in just a few months. I would suggest keep Visitor Visa appointment on separate date as your parent will not have option saying they want to meet kids and spend more time with you.

Hi,
My wife is on H1B and she couldnt work for the past 6 months. I applied for my I 140 and I 485 during the July fiasco last year and she was not added as my spouse and we got married at a later date.
Since she didnt receive pay for 6 months, I guess she is out of status for these 6 months. So my question is will this have any effect on her GC process when I add her as my spouse to the I 485 application whenever my priority date become current ? I am really worried and dont want to screw up my GC process after a long wait.

Hi all,
I'm on my 5th year of H-1b visa. I had my I-797 approved until 10/30/12. My old passport was due to expire on 2/25/11 so during my recent trip my I-94 was given until 2/25/11, even though my visa is until 10/30/2012. So my lawyer filed I-539 to get a new I-94 on 2/20/11. I still didn't get my case number yet. Now I have another Job offer and the new company's lawyer says that i cannot take another job until this case is complete. I'm totally confused and not sure what to do. Please help. your help is very much appreciated.

We filed two different I485s. One me as Primary, for which I have not received any receipt which reached on July 17th. Another from my husbands employer, me as beneficiary which reached on Aug 13th. We got receipt and FP Notice for one which was applied through my husband's employer. Confusion is that in my receipt notice the Alien Number is different from what I received on my I140 Approval Notice. Is it of any concern? Finally will my husband be able to get EAD from my application?

Depends on what is written in your LC job requirements. If it is either Masters or BS + 5 yrs of experience, then - yes, you can file I140 in EB2.
