We just need 20,000 active members to make a change, which is approx 10% of the total number of GC apps pending. At the most 2000 people are active.
If somebody can being in 20,000 active members to this forum, the change will happen.
I dont think all the 20,000 members need to be active every day or every week. What is that you are expecting them to be active every day. If we are not able to pull the crowd, it is not the inability of the crowd but the leadership. Crowd whether it is Indian or other is always like that. It is the effective leadership that makes the difference. For example if you take Martin Luther King, Gandhi or for that matter any leader, it is their speeches/actions that inspired people to involve in the movement not just the people came all by themselves.

they are working overtime on receipting (see the FAQ). Wish they stop receipting for these last 2-3 days and use up ALL the visa numbers. Everyone should be put into I-485 approval work. If there are people stuck in NC, see if any of the June/July filers manage to pass the FBI database without a hit.
A receipt notice coming 2 days late is not a big deal. If a visa number is not used up, its lost, gone forever!

We are being very generous and providing everything for free and we will continue to do so to provide free access to immigrants on our site. Only a small donor area is for donors so that such members can have easy access to information and admins.

It is simple. If the number of pending EB2 Apps before April 1st 2004 (India and China combined) is less than the number of spill over visa numbers, then there will be some forward movement in EB2 next month. If not, the dates will remain the same or may even retrogress.
what I am trying to say is USCIS works effectively for EB2 category as because they dont have much work in other EB categories.

As EB1 is Cureent, presume processing applications up date, EB3 is Unavailable, means no work to do for USCIS people as far as EB3 Adjudicate cases, leave EB4, EB5 categories aside which dont have many applications to process. Then the only category left for working with is EB2 and that also having ROW being current, the adjuticate applications left for processing with available visa numbers are EB2 India for time being. So this means for the next few months including this June 2008 there might be many approvals in EB2 India category, as because theres no considerable work in EB category for USCIS people except EB2 India Adjudication. So presumably all the available visa numbers will be processed effectively in the EB2 category for the fical year.

Nice to see something other than economy down, GC crisis. How your wife manage to do all this. I have two sisters and both are working hard to feed their in law, even before marriage their mother in law asked for giving 20% money to her son (doctor), so he can study, arrange all facilities for him.

HSBC has rejected my refinance application because neither I hold a valid H1B nor a GC. They are rejecting, if you are in AOS not have one of the above docs. BEWARE. Don't loose time and money trying with this bank, if you are in this situation. I heard some success stories, with other banks though. Good luck.

Prices remain stagnant since all builders are factoring in the growth. A stagnant price means real loss of 12% every year ( inflation rate)
Interest rates have to come down to 6 - 7% level in India to make it affordable
Rupee has to depreciate further to make it attractive to transfer and invest
In current situation its foolhardy if someone is investing their 2nd /3rd home/plot in India. People seem to have lost bearing on decent diversification, asset allocation.

What a dollar could do in US could not do anything in Europe/UK. But you can get to eat three times in India for a dollar. You can do two haircuts for a dollar and more...
With the above, India has many millionaries. Also if rupee strengthens and dollar weakens( which is not likely now), India will have billion millionaires.

Can Patton Boggs do better? Haven't we had more legislative success, I mean traction, when we partnered with Quinn Gillespie? Are we receiving sound advice on which of our grievances require legislative action and which ones can be redressed by a mere change in policy on the part of the executive? It looks like most of our current problems were not ushered in by any new law, but rather by a stroke of a pen in a memo by the incompetent and indifferent INS, USCIS, DOL and the State Department. No change in law was needed to make then deny us concurrent filing in Oct 2005 and allow it in July 2007. No change in law was required to deny us visa revalidation. One could argue that no change in law is required to belatedly use unused visas from the previous years. The list goes on. It should be easier to lobby a handful of buffoons in the executive branch with real power than 500+ buffoons on Capitol Hill. Has Patton Boggs served us well?

AILA has reported a very interesting or confusing DOS LegalNet Office letter which one of the members received towards the fact that the consular posts had already been allocated their numbers for the month of July prior to EB visa numbers becoming unavailable on July 2 and that the posts may continue to use their July allocations of EB numbers, and continue to issue Immigrant Visas for the rest of this month, July, for those applicants who were scheduled for IV interviews in July. Hm.....................................
